Competition - Design a bench for Fort Road Rec

Imagine meeting your mates at your very own bench? Or eating lunch in the sunshine while resting against one of your own designs. Enter our competition and your idea could become part of our beautiful landscape.

Two winners will have their design etched into a wooden bench that will be included in a community orchard as part of the exciting refurbishment of Newhaven’s Fort Road Rec. Take your inspiration from local plants and wildlife, the fabulous cross channel ferry, or Newhaven’s industrial and maritime history. It’s up to you.

Celebrate our community and take the opportunity to extend a warm welcome to Newhaven. Your bench will be enjoyed by people using the rec for years to come. Just follow the simple guidelines. Entries are welcomed from groups or individuals, people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds. You could collaborate with a family member or friend, collate drawings from a nursery group, or an art class. Most designs can be adapted!
