FREE Creative Workshop to Inspire Eastbourne Carnival Entries
Event Date:
Sun - 19 Apr 2026
Event Time: 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Location:
Willingdon Trees Community Centre, Holly Pl, Eastbourne BN22 0UT
A fantastic creative workshop is being offered to support community groups, charities and organisations interested in taking part in this year’s Eastbourne Carnival.
With the theme “Lights, Camera, Action!”, the session will explore how groups can develop imaginative and achievable ideas for the parade, focusing on visual impact, storytelling, movement and audience engagement.
The workshop, led by Teri Sayers-Cooper, is designed to be accessible and enjoyable, encouraging participants to generate their own ideas covering key elements such as costume concepts, props, music, movement, group cohesion and practical considerations including comfort, safety and working together as a team.
Participants will be guided to think about their carnival entry as a “moving scene” along the seafront — something that is bold, clear and memorable.
One group leader who attended a recent session said:
“The team and participants are excited and raring to go now and have a plan to work to, thanks to you, Teri.”
The workshop is open to any local group considering taking part in Eastbourne Carnival and aims to help participants feel confident, inspired and ready to get started.
Date: Sunday 19th April
Time: 10.00am to 1.00pm
Location: Willingdon Trees Community Centre, Holly Place, Eastbourne BN22 0UT
