In this drama Fraser plays an American actor living in Tokyo and searching for work – until he is hired by Rental Family, a company that provides actors to play stand-in family members and friends for strangers. Initially reluctant due to its seemingly absurd premise, Phillip, desperate for funds, takes the job after the company's owner insists that they need a 'token white guy'.
